Either the talent bookers at The Tonight Show are really stupid or they're geniuses. Either of those extremes are the only ways to explain Wednesday's roster of guests: George Carlin, a comic legend who has been doing caustic observational and issues-oreinted comedy, most of it left-leaning, for over forty years, and Ann Coulter, a conservative pundit with a flair for the inflammatory statement. Carlin will be promoting his work in the new Pixar flick Cars; Coulter will be promoting her new book.Recall that just a few days ago Coulter stated that the World Trade Center widows that pushed for the creation of the 9/11 commission were reveling in their fame, and they're enjoying their husbands' deaths. And Carlin has been spending the last ten years or so telling his comedy audiences that the government is corrupt, religions are idiotic, and that the human race is going to kill itself off (yeah, this hasn't exactly been his funniest period, though I still think he is one of the best stand-up comics ever). So let's just say that the two don't see eye-to-eye on anything. At all.
And the paneling format of The Tonight Show is a perfect environment for some explosive arguments between the two. It's too bad that Jay Leno is the host; he'll probably put a stop to things at the first airing of the word "bitch".

I'm not sure how Carlin could possibly sit next to Coulter without his head exploding. Now, these two going at it on Bill Maher's show would be worth seeing. But, as you say, I'm sure Leno will keep everything "friendly" and utterly fake and uninteresting. Plus, it SCREAMS "desperate publicity stunt", doesn't it?

Yeah, I was going to say it would be cooler on Bill Maher's show. Bill is friends with Coulter, so it would interesting to watch. I guess since his show is on break, it would have to be on his Amazon.com Fishbowl Show.

Ann Coulter makes me sick. Her comments about 9/11 were completely uncalled for. She's just a sensationalist bitch who has no real opinions just blusters her way through interviews with such a pompous air that she makes me want to throw my remote through the TV.

Kelli, if you think she is smarter and makes more "sence" than George Carlin, no wonder this country is going downhill fast. "Conservatives" are very well off of their own definition of the party. People like her give conservatives a bad name.
The sheep on Jay's show didn't even know what they were clapping about when she was speaking. Jay isn't going to push any kind of controversy, he's a middle-of-the-road waffler and everyone knows that.

People (sheep) nowadays will respond with a round of applause to ANYTHING!!! said with a voice of confidence and conviction no matter how ludicris it may sound as long as it is also followed with the "god bless America" type of attitude. I must say I was quite disapointed with the show, that Dorito headed moron spent the interview licking Ann's twat the entire time, as I could see Carlin's forehead trobbing with agony the 3 times the camera (barely turn to him).
If hitler were on the couch he'd probably be lopping up his chud as well.
Jay should just fulfil the prophecy of good ole Bill Hicks and blow his brain's out on a live tapeing of the show , THAT would be good TV.
